Troopers from the Westminster Barrack were called shortly after 2:15 p.m. on Friday, April 5 to the intersection of Baltimore Boulevard and Cedarhurst Road in Finksburg, where there was a "report of a serious motor vehicle crash."

According to investigators, 30-year-old Taneytown resident Alyssa Marie Lowery was driving west on MD RT 140 when she struck Severna Park native Christine Murphy Walls head-on as she was traveling with a 5-year-old boy.

Two adults were airlifted to area hospitals to be treated for their injuries. Their conditions were not available on Saturday morning.

Investigators believe impairment may have contributed to the crash, police say. No charges have been filed.
